Roberto José Rosales Altuve (20/11/1988 – Caracas, Venezuela) has extended his contract with the Blue and Whites’ entity, which ended at the end of this season, for a further two years (until 2018/19).
The Venezuelan international arrived at La Rosaleda in the 2014/15 season, and during the last two years he has stood out for his great regularity and performance on the team. In 2014/15, he played 40 matches (34 in the League and 6 in the Cup), and last season he participated in 36 matches (35 League and 1 Cup), exceeding 3,000 minutes of play over both seasons, and with a total of 8 goal assists.
At the start of 2016/17, Rosales has played all three of Málaga CF’s matches in LaLiga Santander, following a summer in which he took part in the Copa América Centenario in the US.

The Malaguista was accompanied by Francesc Arnau during his press conference at La Rosaleda’s press room. “We’ve extended his contract for another two years, and we’re thrilled. He has been undisputed on the right wing, gained renewal and we hope he continues at the same competitive level,” says the Club’s sports director.
(Grateful) “I’d like to thank Málaga for the effort made. I’m so happy here, I hope to bring joy to the Club and live up to the trust they’ve shown in me. I always try to work hard and do as much as I can in order to be available to the coach. That’s my philosophy, give the best of myself in order to achieve the objectives.”
(Focused) “My head is always here, focused on Málaga. I hope to continue performing with the confidence the Club has given me, play good football and reach the targets.”
(Next match) “We’ve got another opportunity coming up against Las Palmas. The team is working well with the new signings, and we’re going to fight for the objectives set by the coach at the beginning of the season – trying to reach European positions, which I think this team is capable of.”
(Room for improvement) “Here I was given the chance to play in LaLiga, one of the best in the world. My wish is to improve here with Málaga, I’m firmly focused on the team and this season, which I hope will be better than last.”
