Míchel: “The objective is to maintain these feelings”

The Málaga CF coach encourages his players to “give a boost in the last two matches. We want to retain the consistency that has led us to earn so many points in recent games”.

Great squad

"They are good footballers, and as I said at the time, they wanted this. The players put themselves in charge of the team and have managed to play matches like this one. It’s not a coincidence. A coach cannot change his players that much. They recognised their possibilities and in doing so have made us all look better, including the coaches”.

Pride

"I feel proud, as usually when a coach hears his name it’s to invite him to leave. I think the people are proud, they are watching their team and seeing that the players are far more secure. This also reaches the coach. We all know that when things are going badly, it’s the coach who walks the tightrope. However, when things are going well, the joy is for the players, and if they remember me, then great! I’m extremely grateful, even if the fans hadn’t chanted my name, they’ve treated me very well since I arrived”.

Objective: consistency

“Maintaining these sensations is what we want to continue doing. Beyond the results, and the position we hold in the rankings, I don’t think the fans will view the end of the season as badly as it looked early on. We must give a boost in the last two matches. Although we won’t be able to reach 10th place, we can retain the consistency that has led us to earn so many points in recent games”.

Semi-final: Manchester-Celta

“Not only do I see possibilities, I am really rooting for them. Spanish football is being very well represented by Celta. It’s no coincidence that they’re in the semi-final. Whatever happens, Berizzo and Celta de Vigo should be congratulated. If anyone things they’ve said their last word in the match at Balaídos, this team has shown they can play fantastic matches in any scenario”.
